Brother Drum Reset
One of the most common questions that we are asked, concerns replacement and resetting issues when a Brother Imaging Drum needs replacing.
Some people even look to replacing the printer out of sheer frustration. The good answer and the fix is very easy.
The MFC-7360N and MFC-L2710DW series laser multifunction printers are typical mono laser printers from Brother. The design of the drum and toner unit has been proven to be very reliable and sets Brother as being one of the most purchased laser printers in the market. The design has been replicated in most of Brother’s mono and colour printers.
Changing the drum unit is not difficult and is a normal replacement item. The good news it can be sorted out in around 2 – 3 minutes, so don’t get stressed! It is going to be ok.
Brother printers have counters installed internally which checks the number of the drum revolutions. The counter must be reset manually from the LCD screen. If the counter is not reset a rather annoying message will repeat until the machine stops and that can be frustrating.
Image Drums are replaced on most part – one drum to every four toners used. Below are the instructions to reset the drum unit. You will need to complete this when installing a new drum.
