This is normally the lowest cost way to extend your cartridge life. Will using Compatible or Remanufactured cartridges, or Ink Refills void my warranty? The Australian Consumers' Association Choice Magazine has undertaken a survey into the use of compatible cartridges and spoke to Epson, Hewlett-Packard, Canon and Lexmark. They were informed by all companies that the 'printer warranty would NOT be affected by the use of compatibles or refilled cartridges'. The brand of cartridge, ink or paper you purchase is your decision. Can I pay by cheque? Yes, we accept cheques from Australian customers. Although every product varies so please contact us if you would like warranty information on a particular product. How many pages will my Inkjet/Toner Cartridge print? This varies depending on many issues: Percentage of page covered, Quality of Image, Size of Image, Type of Paper Printed on. Manufacturers normally show figures at 5% coverage, this information where given by the manufacturers is shown by clicking on the "more info" button in our web-shop. Dye sublimation Printers on the other hand always print an exact number of images. When I print there are missing lines ? One of the most common problems. The print head needs 1 or more print head cleans. The head can be blocked by dry ink and or paper fibers. You can minimise this problem by: - Using high quality paper ( coated )
- Replacing old cartridges with new ones at the same time.
- Not leaving the cartridge carriage empty without an ink cartridge installed for more than a few seconds
- Replace empty cartridges as soon as they run out.
- Run a print head clean when you change cartridges over
How should I store cartridges? - In a cupboard.
- Away from direct sunlight.
- Somewhere not subject to temperature extremes.
How do I know whether to get a genuine or compatible product ? This is very much a personal choice. The type of work you are doing is a major consideration as is the cost of the product. For example, if you are printing top quality photographic work you may wish to use genuine brand products, on the other hand the kids may do lots of colour printing for school which may be a good reason for using compatible products. Having said that, we must reiterate that it is a personal choice and we do not make recommendations. You may find that you get excellent photographic results with the cheaper alternatives.
